There are too many driving laws in the rule book that you most likely don't even know about. The most common laws are the ones you need to really worry about and make sure you don't break, such as going on your mobile phone whilst driving. In this article you will find out about many laws you didn't even know existed, some of them will definitely shock you...
Middle Lane Hogging
You see this happen all the time, people just cruising in the middle lane without a care in the world. Well it is illegal, it could land you three points and a fine, as it is considered as careless driving. That was could have come as a surprise because you see it happen every day. You are required to move back into the left lane as soon as it is safe and when you overtook the vehicle you wanted to. This is one of the things most people start disregarding once they pass their driving exam and just stay in whatever lane they please.
Driving Too Slow
Now we hope that everyone knows that driving too slow is really dangerous and against the law, you should be driving as close to the speed limit as possible if it is safe to do so. If you are driving too slow you will be putting everyone else at risk. Maintain a good speed close to the speed limit, keep a safe distance from the cars in front of you and use the left lane only if you are not overtaking.
Eating When Driving
I was shocked to find out that this was a thing, there is no direct law that makes eating while driving illegal but it is considered as careless/dangerous driving as you are not focusing 100% on driving and on the road. This did come as a bit of a shock, but now you know, only eat when you are in a standstill and not whilst you're driving.
Splashing pedestrians
This was also mind blowing, if you purposefully go over a puddle in your car and splash pedestrians you have officially broken a law and could be given a fine and 3 points on your license. It falls under 'driving without reasonable consideration for other persons'.
Playing Your Music Too Loud
Playing music too loud in your car is considered as a crime although the police will not stop you and give you a fine for singing to your favorite songs on the way back home from work. If you are playing your music too loud whilst driving you could get stopped and fined as well as points added to your license as it is considered a distraction.
Road Rage
Road rage is quite a big problem on the roads people tend to be very impatient, but did you know that road rage is actually illegal? you could end up being fined and points landing on your license, road rage is really dangerous, you should stay calm and collected whilst driving.
