Not every car will have the same warning lights, you are probably familiar with some dashboard lights as they appear when you turn the car on!

Let's dive right into the different symbols and tell you exactly what they mean.


This dashboard light will appear when you turn your traction control off, it is amber colored because it is simply a warning light, which does not require any specific action or repair, it is just trying to warn you that having traction control off which could be potentially dangerous.

This dashboard light is red and means that your engine temperature is much higher than usual, make sure you have coolant, check that all of the fans are working, or seek professional help as it is a critical problem with your vehicle.

This indicator light is a safety warning light and it means that there is a malfunction with your Anti Braking system, you should get it checked out by a professional and make sure it isn't a dangerous issue.

The oil pressure warning light means that a lot of pressure is being lost, lubrication is low or there isn't any oil left, check your engine oil levels, make sure to keep your engine oil topped up to a decent amount, this will make your engine run much smoother and make sure all of your components are lubricated properly.

This warning light means that there may be an issue with your power steering system, this is a very serious issue that you should probably get resolved as soon as possible.

This warning light means that your car battery is either running low on charge or not charging properly, again this is in red as the car battery is a crucial component in your car, it is responsible for all of the electronics functioning properly.

This warning light will mostly appear when you have your parking brake engaged, if this warning light is constantly lit up that means that one of your breaks are running low on hydraulic fluid or have a problem with them.

These are the main warning lights that you need to know the meaning of, they are pretty self-explanatory, they are symbols of the faulty part, so it shouldn't be hard to remember these symbols and their meaning. Make sure not to ignore the dashboard warnings, if you ignore them and not take action to fix them you will end up causing much more damage and cost you much more in repairs, try to maintain your car as best you can, change the oil, keep all of the fluids topped up and do regular checks to extend the life of your car.
